Today, the Kidney Diseases are common across the world and the count is increasing day by day. There might be many reasons for the diseases including the lifestyle of foods and no exercises etc .. that causes the kidney to function abnormally.

Our aim is to detect kidney diseases at an early stage, raise awareness, and prevent costly treatments through free health check-up camps across Kerala.

Kidney detection camp by Helping Hands Trust

Kidney disease is one of the most common illnesses seen today. Symptoms appear only when both kidneys are affected, making early detection difficult. Due to diabetes being a major cause of kidney disease, the number of patients is increasing rapidly in Kerala.

In this situation, under the Helping Hands Charitable Trust, Dr. K P Hussain, sponsored by Dubai, launched Kerala's first mobile kidney disease detection camp with a lab-equipped van. Over three years, around 850 camps were conducted across various districts of Kerala.

More than 2 lakh people were tested, and 2010 people were diagnosed with early-stage kidney disease. Additionally, over 4000 people were identified as being at risk of developing the disease. The initiative not only helped in early detection but also raised awareness among the public about kidney disease.

The camps also provide BP and diabetes tests. The KEE mobile van travels through villages across Kerala, providing awareness programs to help people avoid costly kidney transplants, which can cost around ₹5 lakh, and long-term medication expenses.
